Short Run - December Fun Stuff

Fun Stuff -
Well, it’s that time of year again - holiday party time! We hold ours early, so people don’t have to worry about it conflicting with their travel plans. Only one staff member missed it this year - too bad; it was great fun! We had a murder mystery dinner party, in which Peg (Production), as Ms. Marsha Mallow, was the murderess.
It's become a bit of a tradition that in addition to our end-of-the year present, Rick & Mark also give us a branded “MaverickLabel” gift. We’ve gotten vests, hoodies, and jackets in the recent past, all emblazoned with our logo. This year, we went a different route and got North Face backpacks. Stuffed into the front pocket of each was a stocking cap with the logo, too! The backpacks are great for our staff with laptops - or anyone who likes hiking, camping, traveling, or cycling. And that’s pretty much everyone in the Pacific Northwest… [su_carousel source="media: 3843,3856,3847,3844,3845" link="image" autoplay="1000"]
Anniversaries
Our end-of-the-year wrap-up included awards for Stacy (Sales), who has been with us for 15 years now, as well as for the four staff celebrating 10 years - John (IT Mgr), Mark (Production Mgr), Evan (IT), and Yalda (IT).
Next year, MaverickLabel. com will be celebrating 25 years in business, so we’re in the planning stages of a number of fun events and changes for 2019. Can’t wait to see how it all pans out; it's an exciting time!
Switching Things Up
Some of the changes we’ve determined are needed are already in process.
Marketing
In order to respond to the market and our customers more readily, we’ve created a Marketing department. Jim Mesick, formerly manager of Customer Care, will be leading this group. He’s 'stolen' James from IT, because James has experience with photography, videography, and a number of web-based applications and methods. Your fearless blog writer is also involved with this effort, and more individuals (including perhaps some customers!) will be pulled in on an as-needed basis.
Production
Another fun change has brought a tiny bit of physical turmoil to the office. We’re expanding our Production space over the next few months so we can better serve customers and increase our timeliness. It may even allow us to increase our offerings. No walls have come down yet, but the way is being cleared over the holidays for this to happen!
