December Short Run

by MaverickLabel.com | December 21, 2017

In printing, “short run” means a small custom order. In this context, though, short run means we don’t have enough for a full blog post on one subject, so we’re bundling these together this solstice - this December, that means plenty of pictures to brighten the shortest day!

Our Printer’s Printer

3D Printer Setup 3D printer printing

3-D printers are the coolest thing. We ordered some rollers the other day for one of our cutters. Turns out the roller size has changed slightly, and our end caps no longer fit right. After hunting around on the internet for a bit, trying to find ones that would work, Patrick (Production) volunteered to bring in his 3-D printer and make new custom end caps for the rollers.A lot of people dropped by to see these being built. Very cool - and they work well, too!

In the image above, the printer has started forming the end cap. The final version is visible on the computer screen. It is being printed upside down.

Sunrise and Sunset

Edmonds Pier Sunrise

On this, the shortest day of 2017, we’re featuring two photos that Alanna (IT) took of the sunrise and sunset off the fishing pier in Edmonds, just steps away from our front door. She took the early morning shot in late November, at about 7:45 AM, and the sunset shot a week ago, at 4 PM. The fishing pier is lovely at all hours, but we are looking forward to sunrise and sunset no longer occurring during our work day! (You can click on the pictures to go to a larger version of each.)

Keeping Us Warm

At our holiday party earlier this month, management handed out beautiful jackets in black, red, and gray, with our company logo on the sleeve. Modeled here by Connie (Customer Care), you can see how comfy and attractive these hoodies are.

We would try for a group shot of all of us in our bright jackets, but half the crew is camera-shy. It is quite a sight when we are all wearing them, though! MaverickLabel jacket

Website Checkout

Our frequent customers may have noticed that we rolled out a new and improved checkout process earlier this week. Moving though the process should be much faster and more intuitive now. One of our 2018 resolutions is to continue to improve website functionalities and features.

Closed for the Holidays

And finally, our offices will be closed on Monday, December 25, and Monday, January 1. (The website is always open, of course.)

From all of us, warmest wishes for a wonderful holiday season and a bright and happy 2018!
