What’s a Label Kit?

Label kits are one sheet of different labels, grouped for a particular task or product. If you bought ID labels from IDmyStuff® or Club-Valet®, you got basic label kits. But the only choices you have on those label kits are what the text says and what color you want.

Our label kits have detailed and specific labels. Usually all the labels in the kit are used on one product.

Labels in custom label kits can vary in shape, size, and color, but you need to decide on one material and adhesive choice. (You probably want that anyway, for consistency in look and feel.)

Our industrial equipment (short run) product line makes most of our kits.

Note: We can’t run kits on the Lexan® material. If you need extra protection for your labels, add a laminate. Options may include a 5-mil LexSaver® or 8-mil polypropylene laminate, depending on the material you select.

Advantages of Label Kits

  • All the labels you need, together in one sheet – no missed labeling
  • Price can be better than ordering each label separately
  • No running out of one label before you run out of the others
  • Determining when to order new ones is easy.

A lot of people aren’t aware that label kits are pretty easy for us to set up. And they can save you – or your employees – a whole bunch of time, trouble, and probably even some money.

Say you need to put 6 labels on one product. Wouldn’t it be much easier to having one sheet with all the labels you need? No more pulling the wrong label from a roll; no more running out of one label ahead of your next order.

As a side note, kits are different from combos – a combo is basically two labels. For instance, a roll of wine labels can have sets, one for the front and one for the back of the bottle.

Combos are made on rolls, with front and back labels alternating. These sorts of labels are usually machine applied and work well in a processing line. Label kits are on sheets, not rolls.

We receive many orders for kits from tractor and heavy equipment manufacturers, HVAC and electrical companies, and fire departments. Fire departments often use different colors to label the equipment on each truck to easily identify them. It makes sorting out which equipment belongs to what truck much easier after a fire or drill.

Promotional Uses

Label kits are great for promotional uses as well. Many people love stickers. They also like to add little pops of color to things like their laptops, phones, or iPads. Promotional label kits work well in these cases.
